Hot weather continues across Palestine, public urged to avoid direct sunlight

RAMALLAH, June 20, 2025 (WAFA) – Hot to extremely hot weather conditions continue to affect the region, with temperatures remaining higher than average for this time of year, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department.

On Friday, temperatures are expected to remain about 3°C above the seasonal average, with generally hot to very hot conditions prevailing throughout the day. Winds are westerly to northwesterly, light to moderate, occasionally active, and the sea waves light to moderately rough.

The heat is expected to slightly intensify on Saturday, with a slight rise in temperatures expected, reaching about 4°C above average. The same hot to very hot weather will continue into Sunday and Monday, with little change in temperature levels, which are expected to remain 4°C higher than the norm.

The Meteorological Department warned the public to avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, especially during peak hours between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM. People are also urged not to ignite fires in areas with dry grass, due to the increased risk of wildfires.
